“A Small Kindness”

This short-form documentary weaves footage shot during the 2023 March to End Fossil Fuels, as well as a direct action that took place the following day at the Federal Reserve. My intention was to elevate the message of those on the front lines of the march and the ongoing struggle for ecological justice around the world.

As Ugandan climate activist, Vanessa Nakate, learned in the response to her 2020 letter to President Biden, the myth of perfection imposes undue limitations on what many believe we can accomplish. Shot entirely with a 2008 JVC Camcorder, this documentary is far from 4K, but I believe it celebrates the very principles at the core of what many around the globe are striving towards:

A humble future, built for all our relatives.
